Our trip last week to High Point, NC was very special for me. I lived in High Point two different times as I was growing up. My parents retired there and it is where both of them are burried. There are many sweet memories that were sparked as I drove around this “furniture city”. My older brother lives in Greensboro, which is not far from High Point. He came to hear Mike on Sunday morning and Tuesday night. What a blessing it was to sit next to him as I listened to Mike. Also, a high school friend (we graduated in Hendersonville, NC) moved to this area several years ago and is now the public relations guy at the North Carolina Zoo. He and his wife came to church on Sunday morning and then my brother, Steve, and I went to the zoo on Monday and got a special tour. Thanks so much Tom for a delightful day.
Mike spoke at Hayworth Wesleyan Church on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. He got to give 8 different talks and some people came to all of them. We felt very welcomed and loved. Mike also taught at the Hayworth Christian school both days. He spoke at 4 chapels and taught in 10 classrooms. That kept him busy and that made him happy. He got some very sweet letters from a fourth grade class. He will share some of the comments in the next newsletter – but one comment made us smile. The writer thanked Mike for being so hilarious! We will never forget our time at Hayworth Wesleyan. Thanks to all who worked to make the event happen and to Pastor Bill Kinnan for his enthuastic support.
