Mike and I drove from Northern Kentucky to Elkhart, IN on Saturday, Sept. 17th. We actually had to stay in Goshen, IN which is about 30 minutes south of Elkhart because all the rooms in Elkhart were booked. It seems there was a small football game close by in South Bend. You may have heard of the teams, Notre Dame and Michigan State. I was told that the rooms had sold out about a year ago. We set up the books and then had a wonderful Mexican meal with Mike Brummel and his family. Mike is the one who did much of the planning to get the conference scheduled. On Sunday, Mike spoke at the Sunday School hour and again at the morning service. He then did 2 talks Sunday evening and another 2 on Monday evening. The people there made us feel very welcomed.

Mike and I also had a couple of weekends off. We enjoyed being at our own church 2 weeks ago and then traveled to Oklahoma to a family reunion last weekend. Here is a picture of Mike sitting in the driver’s seat of a 100 year old steam engine in Bartlesville, OK.
