On Friday, Sept. 21st, Mike and I flew to Lubbock, TX, the closest large airport to Hobbs, NM. We then drove 2 hours to Hobbs which is just over the border into New Mexico. We met with Pastor Dale Shook and his wife, Jane, to set up for our 41st Teacher Training Class on Sat. morning and then went to dinner with them. They have lived here for 32 years and have been in ministry at Taylor Memorial Baptist all of those years. We so enjoyed our time with them – they treated us like family. We are always blessed to meet God’s people in every corner of the US. Sometimes we get the idea that there are few of us left who uphold the Word of God as truth, but we find godly people everywhere we go.

Mike enjoys teaching teachers and we pray that they will influence many in upholding the authority of God’s Word. I want to thank the church and for sponsoring the class and our time in Hobbs and Emily, the children’s intern, who cheerfully organized and prepared the food for the class.

John and Ynita Swomley drove all the way from West Virginia to minister in New Mexico to the children while Mike was teaching their parents. They often accompany AiG speakers but I think this was one of the longest drives they have done. Their ministry is called JandY ministy (that’s for John and Ynita) and their web site is: www.JandYministry.com. They teach in very creative ways to keep the children interested in learning foundational truth for hours at a time. We love them and their ministry.
