On Saturday, Nov. 5th, Mike and I flew to Shreveport, LA for an AiG conference at Cypress Baptist Church in Benton, LA. That just so happened to be the same day that number 1 LSU was playing number 2 Alabama. We supposed that many of the congregation would probably be watching on Sat. night. So, it was a good thing that we got an extra hour of sleep since daylight savings time ended on Sat. night. You see, LSU won the game in overtime and that meant a late night. We were blessed on Sunday morning with a standing room only audience to hear about Dinosaurs and the Bible at the Sunday School hour and then for Mike’s sermon, “Genesis and Biblical Discernment”. We had a great time of fellowship and a delicious lunch with Pastor John Fream and his family. Then Mike gave two more lectures on Sunday night, “Apologetics 101” and “4 Power Questions to Ask and Evolutionist.” I was once again blessed to have four faithful servants who helped me at the book table. They were there for every lecture – I could not have managed by myself. Thanks Stephanie, Nick, Elaine and Ben.
We want to thank Pastor John Fream and Pastor Cecil Winn and all the other support staff for making our time at Cypress Baptist very special. May God continue to bless this church.
