Our first ministry trip of 2013 was at Trinity Family Life Center in Pickerington, OH which is close to Columbus. We drove up on Saturday, Jan 5th and got all set up for the Sunday – Monday conference. We then went to dinner with the senior pastor Dr Tim Burden and his wife, Beth. We actually had a couple of meals at their home later and Beth is a great cook! Mike spoke at the three Sunday morning services while John and Ynita Swomley taught the children in a different part of the church. John and Ynita have been at several of our seminars and it is wonderful for the children to be taught at the same time. Their ministry web site is www.jandyministry.com They use illusions, illustrated stories, and balloons to tell the truths in Genesis 1 -11. There were adult and children sessions again on Sunday night.
On Monday morning Mike taught the Jr. and Sr. High students at a local Christian school and John and Ynita taught at the elementary chapel. Afterwards, we all went to a Mexican restuarant with the Youth pastor, Adam Dinnell. It was great fellowship and food.
We met a very interesting man who is an elder at Trinity. His name is Lowell Shoaf and he is planning to walk from the bottom of Grand Canyon to the Creation Museum starting in June, 2013 and ending in October. His goal is to raise money for the Museum and for Canyon Ministries who run rafting trips on the Colorado River through the Canyon. Each year the two ministries team up to take a group of Christian leaders free of charge on the rafting trip to help them understand the geology with a biblical worldview based on a belief in the Worldwide Flood.
