It’s All About Education

The Bible

Each of the following verses teaches that ALL Christians are to know how to defend their faith.

But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: (1 Peter 3:15)

Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.
(Jude 3)

Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
2 Corinthians 10:5)

The Situation

Student confused small1. Today most Christian youth attend public schools and secular universities where evolution is taught as a fact, creation is ridiculed, and God is ignored. Because Christian youth do not have answers to defend their faith many lose confidence in the Bible and leave the church. Why is it that Christian youth are not prepared for this challenge in the schools?

2. Most Christian schools in America do not train students how to defend their faith (apologetics). Why is it that so many Christian schools do not have courses in apologetics?

3. Most Christian churches in America do not have trained members (including pastors and youth pastors) who are capable of teaching their youth (and adults) to defend their faith. Why is it that many churches are not prepared to train their congregations to be able to defend their faith?

The Problem

Church under pressure smallThere is a great battle raging for control of the next generation. This battle is largely being fought in the education system. Secular schools and universities constantly indoctrinate youth into a belief in evolution, abortion as an option, diversity in marriage, and moral relativism. On the opposing side, most Christian universities don’t appear to understand there is a battle going on and therefore are not training our youth to defend their faith (especially against the teaching of evolution). As a result very few Christians (pastors, youth pastors, and Christian school teachers) are equipped to teach about creation/evolution and apologetics.

“If I profess with the loudest voice and clearest exposition every portion of the truth of God except that little point which the world and the devil are at that moment attacking, I am not professing Christ, however boldly I may be confessing Him. Where the battle rages, there the loyalty of the soldier is proved!” – Martin Luther

A Solution

You may or may not have a desire to teach in your church, but you can make a difference. One way is to become an Education Partner. Because Christian universities and seminaries are not doing their job, CTI is taking an active role in preparing Christians with the skills and knowledge to teach biblical creation and apologetics.

By becoming an Education Partner you are investing into the lives of the next generation. You enable CTI to equip more Christian school teachers, church leaders, and home school organizations with the necessary skills to train students to defend their faith and better share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

What is an EP (Education Partner)?
1. An EP is someone who has an interest in the next generation.
2. An EP is someone who has an interest in Christian education.
3. An EP is someone who is willing to financially support CTI so that we can perform the work of equipping other Christians to train the next generation to have answers and maintain their confidence in God’s Word.

Creation Training Initiative

Project 1
We already offer three courses:
1. Basic Creation Training; a course for teens and above.
2. Christian Teacher Training; a course for training Sunday school teachers and other Christians with the skills to be effective teachers and facilitators.
3. Advanced Creation Apologetics; a course for training Christians to take the next step in evangelism and bring down arguments that go against the World of God.
We need Education Partners to help us financially supplement the cost of the courses so that we can keep the price low for students and free for the church.

Project 2
In June 2014, CTI will be hosting a five-day Teacher Apologetics College.
We need Education Partners who will supplement the cost to host this event.

Project 3
We are receiving many requests for our courses and will need to hire a second teacher/speaker so that we can train more people to teach our youth to defend their faith.
We need Education Partners who are willing to financially help meet these requests from churches and Christian schools.

Project 4
We are working on providing condensed courses on apologetics (one, two, or three weeks in length) in Christian universities for college credit. We also want to equip the professors to take ownership of the course and make it a standard course for the college.
We need Education partners who will help support this initiative.
