We flew to Little Rock, Arkansas on Friday, Feb. 1st and then drove to Hot Springs – the boyhood home of President Bill Clinton. Even so, it was a facinating spot. We had heard about the baths but had never been in a town where they were available. There is so much history there. We were able to spend a couple of hours on Sunday afternoon walking around downtown, past the houses that were so popular in the early 1900’s. One of the most famous frequent guests was Babe Ruth.

Of course, our reason to be there was to speak at Faith Lutheran Church in Hot Springs Village which was about a 40 minute drive. The Village, as the locals call it, is the largest gated community in the US with over 26,000 wooded acres. The church has a congregation of mostly retired people from all over the US with the average age in the 70’s. We were delighted when around 90 showed up for an all day seminar on Saturday, Feb 2nd. One family came all the way from Dallas to attend and there were several college students there as well. We were impressed with the desire to learn and stay stong on the authority of God’s Word.

On Sunday morning there was a Question and Answer time during the Sunday School hour. The questions were thouthful and we hope the answers were helpful. One thing I can definitely say is that we were well fed! There were cookies available at all times (that made Mike very happy). We enjoyed a great Mexican meal with Pastor Mark Carnahan on Saturday evening and a nice brunch with several members of the church at one of the golf club restuarants in the Village. We want to thank Don Putnam especially for all the planning and attention to detail. We pray that from his faithful efforts many people will be touched, not just the ones who attended, but their families and friends who will hear about what they learned.
