We flew to Austin, TX on Thursday, April 4th and drove about an hour north to Killeen, TX which is home to Fort Hood. We had dinner with Sergeant First Class Alan Rains and then Mike spoke all day on Friday to the students at Central Texas Christian School in Temple, TX. On Saturday morning, we were off to the base chapel at Fort Hood for Basic Training – Creation Basic Training that is. We had a room full of students and Mike felt right at home with the fine men and women who are serving our country.
On Sunday morning Mike was blessed to get to speak at the Sunday School hour and again at the Chapel Next church service. After the service there was a covered dish luncheon to honor Chaplain Matt Goff who is getting ready to deploy to Afghanistan for a third tour. Col. Goff and Chaplain Brad Godding were very kind to have us come to speak at the base.
