On Friday, August 23 we drove to the Asheville, NC area for another Basic Creation Training class at Locust Grove Baptist Church in Weaverville. But first, we had the great pleasure of going to Ridgecrest Conference Center which is a few miles east of Asheville. Annette Frisby is our contact at Ridgecrest for the 5 Day Creation Apologetics College scheduled for June 2 – 7, 2014. By God’s providence, Annette’s home church is Locust Grove Baptist. She heard Mike speak there a year ago and when she saw that we were coming to her church again, she called to invite us to stay at Ridgecrest so we could see first hand what it is like. She showed us the rooms that we will use when we have the conference and gave us meal tickets so we could sample the food in the cafeteria. Mike and I know that we have made a great choice for the location. It is beautiful, our room was comfortable and the food was fantastic! Thank you Annette for the opportunity.
Basic Creation Training Class at Locust Grove Baptist Church
On Saturday, Mike taught the Basic class to a group who had come from all over. Brent Madaris and his family drove 4 hours on Friday to attend the class. There were also several churches in the Weaverville/Mars Hill area represented. We got an email from one of the students that made us very happy. Here is a portion of his email:
I did want to share with you that about a week ago I was able to share with a gentlemen some of what I had learned taking this training. This man said he was a Christian but just really didn’t have any answers for a lot the things the world throws at him. We were able to discuss some of these and I was able to let him know the Bible does have all the answers.
Sunday morning at Locust Grove Baptist Church
On Sunday morning Mike spoke for Sunday School and Church services at Locust Grove Baptist. We enjoyed being there again and thank Jim Huff and Pastor Ben Whitmire for making this happen.

We flew to Phoenix, AZ for our first “Donor Dinner” organized by Kenn Kemper, another former Marine. We had a good time and hope to have many more of these dinners in the future. If you are interested in organizing one for us in your area, email Mike at [email protected].
