Mike speaking at Cornerstone Church in Springfield, MO

Mike and I flew to Springfield, MO on Saturday, July 14th.  We stayed at a very interesting bed and breakfast which is on the campus with the church. It  is called Elfindale Mansion and was built in 1892. It is called a Mansion for a reason. The rooms are elegant and huge! We found a gift bag in our room with a letter from Pastor Jess and Paula Gibson welcoming us to Cornerstone Church and Elfindale. It also told us who would be taking us to dinner, who would come to escort us to church on Sunday morning, and who would be taking us to lunch after church. What a way to welcome guests. Doug Decker and his wife Faith took us to dinner after we set up for the service on Sunday. We went to a tourist destination in Springfield called Bass Pro Sporting Goods Store. It is an unreal place and could take a week to see everything. They have a very nice restuarant on the second floor that overlooks the store and the food was wonderful.

Mike spoke on Sunday morning and Sunday evening and again on Monday evening. We certainly appreciate the stand that the pastors take on the truth of God’s Word. When the leadership of a church is serious about teaching the Scriptures as Truth, the people are also serious about learning all they can about how to defend what they believe. Thank you to all at Cornerstone Church who made us feel special and very welcomed.
